DOLORES JUNE

Dolores S. June, 85, of Larksville, passed away late Tuesday evening, August 9, 2016, in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Larksville, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary McGowan Schultz. Dolores was a life-long member of St. Ignatius Loyola Church, Kingston and a graduate of Larksville High School, Class of 1948. She first met her husband, Carl, while managing the candy counter at the Larksville Movie Theater, and they remained inseparable since, building a beautiful family and home during their 62-year marriage. She additionally shared her love of cooking and baking while employed in Food Service at Wyoming Valley West High School. Dolores devoted her life to caring for others, and most enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by brother, Richard Schultz, sister, Rosemarie Sobol and grandson, Jacob June.

Dolores is survived by her loving husband, Carl C. June; son, Carl M. June and his wife Jennifer of Pace, FL; daughter, Michelle Kalna and her husband Paul of Shavertown; 5 grandchildren, Michael, Rachel (Hanson) and Jason June, Chloe and Shane Kalna; 5 great grandchildren, Leah, Joshua and Benjamin June, Cooper and Annelise Hanson, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 8:30 am from the Andrew Strish Funeral Home, 11 Wilson Street, Larksville with a Mass of Catholic Burial at 9:00 am in St. Ignatius Church, 339 N. Maple Ave., Kingston. Interment will be at the St. Ignatius Parish cemetery following mass.

Friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home and Saturday from 8:00 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Ignatius Church, 339 N. Maple Ave., Kingston.
