SHARON THRASH

Sharon L. Thrash (Thomas), 70, of Hunlock Creek, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at home.

Born in Mountaintop on December 17, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Franklin Thomas and Leona Polakowski.  Sharon was a 1968 graduate of Crestwood High School.  She earned an Associates Degree from Luzerne County Community College later in life.  Sharon was currently employed by Geisinger Health Care.  She was a strong, gentle, kindhearted and intelligent woman, who helped guide her children to always try their best and strive to succeed.  She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren grow and excel in both sports and academics.  She had many funny stories about growing up on the farm and getting into mischief with her sisters.  She always had a smile for everyone and enjoyed sharing it by making a funny (and oftentimes cheesy) joke.  She was easily your best friend, once you met her.  She was certainly ours.  She held us, she loved us, she taught us, and she helped us grow.  She was our rock.

Sharon was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Donald E. Thrash, her parents, Franklin and Leona and her son, Donald Jr.

Sharon is survived by her daughters Christine Kon and her husband, Martin, Larksville; Aimee Austin and her husband, Donald, Trucksville; Jeanette Maye and her husband Joshua, Towanda; son Donald C. Thrash, Hunlock Creek, six grandchildren, Brendon, Ben, Kyla, Joshua Jr, Laney, and Emelynn; siblings, Cheryl Kuren, Wilkes-Barre; Joyce Shanahan, Hunlock Creek; Francine Thomas, Old Forge; Annette Butwin, Trucksville and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 5:00 pm from the Andrew Strish Funeral Home, 11 Wilson Street, Larksville. Friends are invited to join the family from 3 to 5 pm.
