Marie Krispin Romanowski, 93, of Larksville, PA passed away peacefully after a healthy and full life on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore, PA.
Marie was born on October 31, 1927, in Kingston, PA. She was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Szczech Krispin and a graduate and Valedictorian of Kingston Township High School, Class of 1945. Marie was a member of St. Anthony’s of Padua Catholic Church, Larksville, PA. Marie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. The most intelligent, humorous, and quick-witted woman, Marie was our matriarch. A poet, master gardener, cook, baker, avid reader, and crossword puzzle solver, Marie was a woman who embraced life-long learning and education. Her counsel and wisdom established the foundation for her children and grandchildren to navigate the ever-changing phases of their lives. Marie’s greatest love was family and friends gathering around her kitchen table for laughter, food, and fun. A visit would never end without Grandma running to the front door for a smile and warm wave goodbye.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Romanowski; siblings, Edmund Krispin, Stanley Krispin, Helen Melnick, Josephine McGuire and infant sisters, Stella and Margaret.
She is survived by her eight children, Peter Romanowski of Telford, PA; Elizabeth (Gust) Mann of Stevenson, WA; Michael (Kellie) Romanowski of Ocean Pines, MD; Edward (Cornelia) Romanowski of Shavertown, PA; John (Miriam) Romanowski of Kingston, PA; Therese (Kevin) Shipley of Flowery Branch, GA; Thomas (Erica) Romanowski of West Pittston, PA; Timothy Romanowski of Larksville, PA; 17 grandchildren, Kyle, Cory and Blake Romanowski; Michael and Adam Romanowski; Lindsay Romanowski Mall and Andrew Romanowski; Matthew, Jacob and Caleb Romanowski; Jordan, Peter and Harry Shipley; Thomas, Ann and Katherine Romanowski; Brady Fallon; brother, Leonard Krispin and many nieces and nephews. Marie had a particular fondness for her goddaughter, Laura O’Malley, and the Romanowskis cannot thank her enough for her kindness and devotion.
The family also would like to thank the Hospice Center staff for bringing such comfort to their mother in her final days.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at 10:30 am at St. Leo’s Holy Rosary Church, 33 Manhattan Street, Ashley, PA with interment in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery, Larksville, PA.
