Kathryn M. Walton, 91, of Edwardsville and Lopez, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 surrounded by her family.
Born in Larksville, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Sadie Houlihan Lahart and was a graduate of Larksville High School. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Kay enjoyed spending time with her family, vacations with her sisters to Myrtle Beach and especially her visit to Ireland. Kay and Ed could be found most weekends at their cabin in Lopez.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward Walton Sr. and siblings, Thomas Lahart and Mary Smith.
Left to cherish her memory is her children, Joseph (Barbara) Walton, Larksville; Edward J. (Kathryn) Walton Jr, Kingston; Linda (Frank) McDonough, Wilkes-Barre; Matthew (Fran) Walton, Cutler Bay, FL; and Andrew (Angela) Walton, Larksville; 10 grandchildren, Jessica, Jamie, Joey, Carissa, Jesse, Katie, Jimmy, Steve, Jason, Sarah 12 great grandchildren, Parker, Carter, Alice, Arlo, Josephine, Virginia, Amelka, Michal, Makayla, Mason, Landon, Dylan, She is also survived by sisters, Sally Baloga of Wilkes Barre; Peggy Ungvarsky of Hagerstown,MD and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021 at 9:45 am from the Andrew Strish Funeral Home, 11 Wilson Street with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:15 in St. Ignatius Church, Kingston. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery, Pringle.
Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation on Sunday, October 17, 2021, from 6 to 8 pm and on Monday morning from 9:00 am until time of service.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Plymouth Manor and Compassionate Hospice Care for their exceptional kindness, aid and attention during Kathryn's final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family desires that memorial contributions be made to a charity of their choice.
