Joseph J. Lipski, Sr., “Motor”, 94, of Port Matilda, formerly of Larksville, died on Sunday, July 3, 2022, in Mt. Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Born in Larksville, he was the son of the late Frank and Sophia Bondzinski Lipski and was a graduate of Larksville High School. Joe served his country proudly in the United States Army during World War II and was the recipient of the World War II Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal, Japan. He worked for the Postal Service for 33 years; was the plumbing inspector for Larksville Borough and was a longtime member of the Larksville Fire Department.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Pesotski Lipski and brothers, William, Felix, Charles, Frank, Albert and Edward Lipski.
He is survived by his son, Joseph J. Lipski, Jr and his wife, Diane of Port Matilda; three grandchildren, Amanda, Andrew and Alyssa Lipski and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at 9:30 am from the Andrew Strish Funeral Home, 11 Wilson Street, Larksville with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. John the Baptist Church, Nesbitt St Larksville. Interment will follow in St. Hedwig's Cemetery, Larksville with Military Honors.
Friends are invited to join the family on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from 4 to 6 pm and Wednesday morning from 9:00 until time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in his memory, may be made to Wounded Warriors.
