JAMES L. KNORR

James L. Knorr, of Larksville, passed into his Heavenly home Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born April 12, 1937, Jim grew up in Larksville and attended local schools.  Jim graduated from Larksville High School Class of 1956.  He joined the Army where he served as a radio operator for four years.  James married his best friend Marjorie (Peters) and they spent many happy years together.  They would have been married 60 years in August.

Jim retired from Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospitals Environmental Services department and will be missed by the many friends he made while working there.

Surviving are his wife "Margie"; daughter Vicky Okane and her daughter Michelle of Larksville; daughter Wendy Pawlowski and her husband Joseph of Mountain Top; brother John and his wife Beatrice and their sons, John Jr. and his wife Jan and son Kenneth.

Jim had a large extended family that will miss him deeply.  He will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews.  Jim will be greatly missed by his granddaughter Michelle.  She and her "PopPop" spent many hours gardening, building things and spending quality time together. 

Jim was an avid New York Yankees fan. He didn't have a favorite player because he watched so many Yankee greats in his lifetime.  Jim held his family and friends close to his heart and that is where he will remain with us always.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses who so compassionately took care of him.

Funeral service, with military honors, will be conducted on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 3:00 pm from the Andrew Strish Funeral Home, 11 Wilson St. Larksville.  Pastor Jim Sienkiewicz will officiate.

Friends are invited to join the family from 1:00 pm until time of service.
