IDRIS (GUS) THORNE

Idris “Gus” Thorne, Jr. of Edwardsville, born June 11, 1960, passed away August 3, 2023 at the age of 63. His declining health took him away too soon.

Gus was a retired supervisor from MIA Products where he worked for years.

Gus was preceded in death by his father, Idris Thorne Sr.; brother, Thomas Thorne; nephew Robert Derby and brother in law, Ralph Derby.

Gus will be deeply missed by his mother, Shirley Thorne; brother, Gary Thorne; sisters, Shirley Polisky, Barbara Derby, Linda Kashnicki, Donna Riggs, Laurie Saltz; brother in law, Donnie Saltz and many nieces and nephews.

Gus had a love of photography; was a very talented painter and was a very artistic person. Gus was a very giving person. He was dearly loved by his family and many friends. He would always find a way to make you smile when he was with you.

Gus spent countless days smiling and laughing with his mother, who he cared for for many years.

Our Lord has taken Gus to be another Guardian Angel.
