DAVID ADAMS Obituary

David G. Adams, 66 of Wilkes-Barre passed away Tuesday January 25, 2022, in Geisinger Medical Center South Wilkes-Barre.

He was born in Larksville, son to Nancy Adams and the late Harold J. Adams, Sr. and was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School, Kingston, PA.

Early in his life he worked at Nelson Furniture Company, Kingston, PA and later went on to work in highway construction with American Infrastructure.

Dave, commonly known to his friends (but not his mother!) as “Mongo” lived his life as he wanted to and enjoyed spending time with the love of his life Barbara and his family and friends.   Whether it was cheering the Eagles on (whether good or bad he was a loyal fan) or playing in the softball leagues at Kirby Park with his father and brothers (go Duda’s).  He enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino – but never won!  His summers were either listening to the Phillies game or swimming – whether the pool or the beach.  He loved dogs (and they all loved him) and was always quick to say I will dog sit -whether family or friend he was there (Stella and Roxey always knew Dave had a treat in hand).  If you needed a ride – he was there.  His mom needed a caregiver – he was there to serenade her with his singing all day long.  He could always be counted on to share a smile and do what he could for you – he was a kindhearted soul that will be missed.

Dave was preceded in death by his Father - Harold and his niece/goddaughter, Jill Adams Wujcik.

He will be dearly missed by his mother, Nancy, his lifelong companion of 40 years Barbara Kosloski, his siblings, Robert (Gina) Luzerne, Darryl (Lorraine) Scranton, Harold (Nina Sue) Douglasville, GA, Margaret Ann Hess (Garry), Mount Joy, PA, Brenda, Larksville as well as his numerous nieces ,nephews, great nieces, and his Aunts Vi Stelmack, Kathleen Miller and Eleanor Adams and Uncle Mort Miller, as well as his extended family Joan and Ned Blaum, Joseph Kosloski, David Moore, Nancy and Scott Alsdorf, Goddaughter Justus Wanyo and  his good friends Paul Morgan and Earl Klapat.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 31, 2022, at 1:00 pm in St. John the Baptist Church, Nesbitt Street, Larksville. Reverend Gerald Gurka will officiate.

Friends are invited to join the family on Sunday, January 30, 2022, from 1 to 3 pm at the Andrew Strish Funeral Home, 11 Wilson Street, Larksville.
