BERNARD KRAVITZ Obituary

Bernard W. Kravitz, of Edwardsville, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at the Wilkes Barre General Hospital.

Born in Larksville, in 1928, he was the son of the late Joseph and Catherine Blazek Kravitz. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserves, retiring as a Master Sergeant in 1957.  He was extremely proud of his military service.  Bernie worked as an upholsterer at Nelson Furniture for many years until it closed, then took a part time job as bartender at the Full Moon until he was 88 years old.  He was a member of St. Anthony's Church in Larksville, Larksville American Legion, and the Catholic War Veterans Post 752, Edwardsville, where he served as Commander for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sons Gary and Jeffrey Kravitz.

He is survived by Wife, Dorothy M. Kravitz; children, Dorothy Fuller, Hunlock Creek, Kathryn Stancyk, Edwardsville, Patricia Groden (Brad), Winter Springs, FL, Andrea Rizzo, (Sam) Edwardsville, Jennifer Selinsky, (Robert) Archbald and David Kravitz, Edwardsville, (his best buddy); 11 Grandchildren, and 13 Great Grandchildren.

He was a very proud man who loved his family dearly.  His greatest joy was seeing all his children get together for holidays and birthdays, etc. Family get togethers were always at his house.  His other joy was his daily scratch-off lottery tickets.  He always thought he would win the big one!

His wishes were to have no public services; but for his family to celebrate his life privately.
