Andrew A. Kachmar, Jr. of Larksville, died at home on Friday, April 14, 2023, just 2 days prior to his 71st birthday.
Born in Larksville, he was the son of the late Andrew and Leona Velgus Kachmar Sr. and was a graduate of West Side Vocational Technical School, Pringle. He worked as Chief Engineer for Larksville Fire Department and Fire Chief for Larksville Borough. He was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Church, Kingston; Larksville Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as past president and various other offices; Harveys Lake Rod and Gun Club and served on the Larksville Sewer Authority.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bernice Winecki; his faithful companion, Yorkshire Terrier, Kasey and many fellow Fireman and Friends.
Funeral Procession will leave the funeral home on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 9:30 am from the Andrew Strish Funeral Home, 11 Wilson Street, Larksville with a Funeral at 10:00 am in St. Mary's Byzantine Church, Chestnut Street, Kingston. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Byzantine Cemetery, Pringle.
Friends are invited to join the family on Thursday, from 4 to 7 pm and again on Friday from 9:00 am until time of procession.
In LIEU of FLOWERS, Memorial contributions may be made, in his honor, to the Larksville Volunteer Fire Dept.
