Theresa M. Kuharcik, 71, of Larksville, died Saturday evening, June 24, 2017, in the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, surrounded by her family.

Born in Stawiski, Poland, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Ann Saniewski Smaka and was a graduate of Swoyersville High School. Theresa worked, most recently, as an Office Manager for 3-R Electric and was a member of St. Ignatius Church. 

Theresa was very active with the PTA when her children were young, and organized many fundraisers. She also volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America for over 25 years and earned the Silver Beaver Award among many other district and counsel awards. Theresa also was active with her church, St. Hedwig's, and volunteered at the annual bazaar.

Theresa also enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband, Francis.

Theresa is survived by children, son, Frank Kuharcik and his wife, Tracy, Larksville; daughter, Kris Perry, Edwardsville; son, Nick Kuharcik and his wife, Beth, Huntersville, NC; 2 grandchildren, Jordyn & DJ; siblings, Irene Pechal, Swoyersville; Frank Smaka, Dallas; Helen Cerminaro, Conyers, GA and Mary Ann Florek, Hanover Twp.

Friends are asked to go directly to the church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 10:30 am in St. Ignatius Church, Kingston. Interment will be private in St. Hedwig's Cemetery, Larksville.

Private viewing for family on Tuesday morning at 9am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or a charity of the donor's choice.
