Sylvia M. Zarrizski Ciavarella, 71, of Wilkes-Barre, died Friday, September 22, 2017 at home.

Born in Larksville, she was the daughter of the late Leon J. and Sophie D. Kon Zarrizski and was a graduate of Hanover High School. Sylvia was employed as a secretary for Atwater and was an avid traveler sailing on 32 cruises. She enjoyed going to the casino, fishing, gardening and spending time with her family, especially family dinners and playing board games. She was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish and the Neighborhood Crime watch Group.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her brother Lawrence Zarrizski.

Sylvia is survived by her loving husband, Peter Ciavarella; son, Keith and his fiancee, Kristin Clark; beloved dog and companion, Lexi, brother, Robert Zarrizski, and his wife, Helen, Whitehall, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, along with her beloved brother Lawrence, who passed the same day as Sylvia, on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 10:00 am in St. Robert Bellarmine Parish at St. Aloysius Church, Division Street, Wilkes-Barre, with Reverend Richard Cirba officiating.

Interment will be in St. Marys Cemetery, Hanover Township.
