Marilyn T. Wallace, 77, of Alden, passed away on the snowy morning of Friday, January 19, 2024 with family by her side in Allied Hospice Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Anna Cooper Smith. In her younger years, Marilyn was a graduate of Larksville High School before working for General Cigar. She was incredibly involved in Church Service her entire life from singing in the church choir, to being an active former member of Holy Family Church, Sugar Notch.
Marilyn enjoyed her garden, her home, music, travel, and all God's living creatures. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend - always centering love and compassion for all.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ted and Ronald Smith and infant brother, Joseph Smith.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 59 years, Joseph J. Wallace; son Joseph (Lisa) Wallace of Trucksville, daughter Lynn (Allen) Hopkins of Faulkner, MD, son Michael Wallace of Warrior Run; grandchildren, Gregory, Adelia, Jonathan, Joanna Wallace, Tamlyn Hopkins; siblings Patsy Dorrance of New Hope, MaryJo Haughwout of Larksville, Robert Smith of Sieverille; nieces and nephews.
Blessing service will be conducted on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 11:00 am from the Andrew Strish Funeral Home, 11 Wilson Street, Larksville, with Reverend Vincent Dang officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Dallas.
Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation on Sunday, January 21, 2024 from 2 to 4 pm and on Monday morning from 10:30 am until time of service.
