Claire was called home on Tuesday January 16th after a long bout with dementia and more recently, a short fight with pneumonia.

The daughter of Sylvia Scanlon and the late Joseph Scanlon, she was preceded in death by her husband of 16 years, Philip, a proud Marine, in 1998.

Growing up, she had a huge family of 3 sisters and a brother. April (Neil), Cathy, Elsie and Joe, and although spread out later in life, remained but a phone call away.  Claires 2 sons, Phil and James, stayed close to their mom as she required assistance due to the dementia as Phil took care of her around the clock. The goal on a daily basis was that Claire felt as much love as possible and that she knew she was a beautiful person, inside and out.

Through the years Claire was wonderful at many things, including being a fantastic cook and more importantly, a fantastic mother.  Her love of the band, The Eagles, shaped a happy home, as the boys grew up with music being played as often as possible.  She is going to be missed in such an immense way, but the light that she shone will never be forgotten. Her departure has crushed the hearts of many, but the thought of her beautiful smile and her bright blue eyes will make wonderful memories for many, many years to come.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 6:00 pm from the Andrew Strish Funeral Home, 11 Wilson Street Larksville.

Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation from 4 pm until time of service.
