Raymond Charnick, 62, a life resident of Kingston, died Tuesday evening, July12, 2016, in Celtic Hospice In-Patient Unit, Wilkes-Barre.

 

Born in Kingston, he was the son of the late Stanley F. and Helen Gradus Charnick and was a graduate of West Side Tech High School. He served in the United States Marines and was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Sharpshooter Rifle Qualification Badge. Ray was employed as a Correction Officer and trainer for the Luzerne County Correctional Facility prior to retiring and was an avid Penn State Fan.

 

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his brother Mark Charnick.

 

He is survived by his son, Raymond Charnick, Jr., and his wife, Erin, Schnecksville; daughter, Jennifer Nankivell and her husband, Thomas , Luzerne, 4 grandchildren; brothers Stanley Charnick, Shavertown and Robert Charnick, Monongahela, PA

 

Funeral services were held, Saturday, July 16, 2016 from the Andrew Strish Funeral Home, 11 Wilson Street, Larksville with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Resurrection of the Lord Polish National Catholic Church, 35 Zerby Ave., Edwardsville. Interment, with Military Honors, was in the parish cemetery, Lehman Township.
