JOSEPH D. LLOYD

Joseph D. Lloyd, 69, of Nanticoke, Tilbury Terrace, formerly of Larksville, died Wednesday, January 25, 2017, in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Kingston, he was the son of the late Leo and Alice Latsko Lloyd and was a graduate of Larksville High School. Joe served his country proudly in the United States Army Military Police and was a member of the American Legion. A man of great faith, he was a member of St. Ignatius Church, Kingston, serving as both usher and lector for many years. He loved his job, as a mail carrier for the US Postal Service, enjoyed meeting customers and only missed one day of work during his 45 year career. Joe was a Notre Dame and New York Yankees Fan and enjoyed golfing and his beloved dog, April.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his wife, Irene Judge Lloyd and infant twin brother, John.

Joe is survived by his siblings, sister, Maryalice James, Edwardsville; John Lloyd and his wife, Mary Grace, Pittston; Barbara Walton and her husband, Joseph, Larksville; mother in law, Theresa Judge, Nanticoke; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, January 28, 2017, at 12:30 pm from the Andrew Strish Funeral Home, 11 Wilson Street, Larksville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 pm in St. Ignatius Church, 339 N. Maple Ave., Kingston.

Interment will be in St Ignatius Cemetery, Pringle.

Friends may call Friday, January 27, 2017, from 4 to 7 pm and from 12:00 noon Saturday, until time of service, at the funeral home.
