Dorothy had a life long dream of becoming a nurse. After many long nights of studying, lots of hard work and dedication she obtained the title of RN in 2011 and began working in the Wilkes Barre General Hospital that same year.

Dorothy loved to help others and was always trying to make a difference in the world. In 2013 she went on a mission trip to Los Joscotes, Guatemala with her Cross Creek Community Church family.

While there Dorothy was a major part of setting up and then running the first medical clinic for the village of Los Joscotes. She worked tirelessly every day in the heat ministering to every person who came. She also packed up food bags to distribute, washed the feet of the children and gave them new shoes. While in the village of Los Joscotes Dortothy created a special bond with a little boy named Luis. This connection fueled her to become his sponsor to help provide him with a proper education and basic needs.

When Dorothy was re-diagnosed with Cancer her dear friends on 4E at the Wilkes Barre General Hospital decided to put together a benefit to assist with her medical costs. Once word got out of the planning it spread like wild fire and friends of Dorothy old and new as well as her Church family and her immediate family all put their efforts together with her 4E family to make this benefit happen. On February 28th 2016 the benefit was held at Bart & Urbys and was a fun filled day of friends, family, food and music. Dorothy was overjoyed to see all the faces that were able to show up to support her fight against cancer.
